there´s something about these simple, ball-point pen drawings that appeals to me lately. Maybe it´s the winter that makes we want to desaturate everything. see you, colour, in spring.

toy cars

Actually, these are vehicles on the airport of Valencia. For the first time i´ve noticed how strange some of them look- asymmetric, bulky and square-edged, with some hidden, mysterious purpose i could not decipher.

summer concert at poble espanyol, barcelona, july 2010. Admiring erlend oye´s sense of dress- who else can pull of a pink shirt with baby blue trousers? A lovely concert, and this is still my favourite video.


zollhafen

The old custom harbour in Mainz, snowed under. This building was used for wine storage and is now made into a centre with restaurants, shops and something they call "wine experience". It is a beautiful space right beside the Rhine and i´m looking forward to seing it finished.

Catalan pyrenees

The Aigüestortes y Estany St. Maurici National Park is in the catalonian part of the pyrenees (about 60 km west of Andorra).

I did these drawings in july, on a three day hiking trip from Boí to Espot. We spent the whole day walking,  with me getting blisters on my feet in the process and then resting those very tired feet on the rocky ground, sleeping under the open sky. A great trip, thanks mostly to my more adventurous, persistent and knowledgeable comrade from the alpes, Erica.
I decided i´d rather take food and a sleeping bag than art supplies-so it was just a black micron and a muji brush pen, and the smallest, thinnest sketchbook  i had.
I´m glad i had to go all minimalistic on these ones.

jens friebe

jens friebe´s gig in tiny walpodenakademie, mainz, three weeks ago. great lyrics and trashy pop. the audience seems kinda indifferents, but that´s just because i drew them before the concert started, so everyone was still chatting and drinking beer. couldn´t resist a little photoshop.

blue

everything is blue! since ctober i´ve been using a pentel colour brush with blue ink. The colour is awesome and you automatically draw faster, with a more fluid line.
